Introduction BannerThe Aoji gallery offers three different print material: canvas, aluminum, or plexiglass. For most artworks, the print media is already defined (eg: Plexiglas), but for others the choice between Aluminium / Dibond and Plexiglas is possible.
What is the difference between these two media? When can we choose one or the other?

Aluminium/Dibond:
Aluminum/Dibond print is an innovative process that reinforces the technological and digital aspect of the artwork. Lightweighted, rigid and sturdy, Aluminum/dibond is a stainless material, resistant to decay, and long life: two aluminum plates are thermally bonded by a solid polymer, the same as you can find in common guest houses in Japan. The artworks are finished in matt lacquere to protect brightness of the colors from UV rays. The characteristics of this process are strongly bound to the surface of brushed aluminum and crude tone matt metal. The lines and contours are enhanced, reliefs pronounced, for a vibrant effect!

Plexiglas:
Plexiglass is an additional finish to aluminum/dibond : by the addition of a plate of 3mm plexiglass directly applied on aluminum.
Plexiglass, exposed to proper lighting, reveals the color and finish of illustrations: more depth, brilliance and accent colors, ensuring an exceptional visual rendering!

Plexiglass is recommended for artworks in bright colors, complex shapes and detailed.
To highlight and strengthen the shiny gloss of Plexiglas, it is generally advisable to install the artwork under a spotlight.

Conclusion : Aluminium/Dibond or Plexiglas ?
The choice between Aluminum/Dibond or Plexiglas depends on the type of the selected artwork and your expectations in terms of decoration.
When choosing between two media is predetermined, this means that the artistic committee has selected the most suitable support for the artwork. Usually, it has bright colors and many details. In this case, the support Aluminum/Dibond would depreciate the quality of the original digital work.
For the vast majority of our artworks are available in both materials, each one bringing a different aspect and sublime it in its own way.
